Royal Barge Museum

The Royal Barge Museum located near Bangkok Noi Train Station. The museum features 8 royal barges used only in special royal boat procession ceremonies such as Thot Phra Kathin Ceremony. The ceremony dates back to Ayuthaya Period. These barges with their unique designs and elaborated details are used on particular Royal occasions and formerly served as war-vessels.

The royal barge is made of wood with a great handicraft. You have to see for yourself. This place is a must visit for you. Not all thai people have a chance to see this barge so close like nowsaday. If you have a chance, please go there and see why these royal barge got an awards from the international institute of boat.

The most beautiful one is 'SuphanaHong' (Golden Swan) used by the King when he made his Royal river procession for the offering robes to monks in Krathin ceremony.

The museum phone number is 424-0004. Opened 09:00-16:00 on Monday to Friday with B30 admission fee.
